JasperMate
JasperMate is JasperX’s own I/O hardware: a unit that runs the controller, which you get online and then claim into a project from its page in JasperX.
Getting it online
Section titled “Getting it online”Any one of these is enough:
- Wi-Fi: hold the Reload button for 3 seconds, until the red light blinks. On your phone, join
the Wi-Fi network
JM-<ID>, then pick your network and type its password on the page that opens. The password stays on the JasperMate. - SIM: put a data SIM in either SIM slot. The JasperMate uses it when it has no cable and no Wi-Fi.
- Ethernet: plug a cable from your router into the WAN port.
Claiming it
Section titled “Claiming it”- Open its page: follow the link on its sticker (it looks like
jaspermate.link/STAR009), or choose Add controller on a project, type the ID from the sticker under Add a JasperMate and choose Open its page. - When the page says so, press Reload on the JasperMate once.
- Choose the Project (or New project) and, if offered, the Programme it should run, then choose Claim this controller in JasperX.
- The page follows the claim. If it is updating the controller, keep the JasperMate powered. When it is done, it opens the programme.
Claiming needs Editor access on the project and a free place for an active controller on your plan; if every place is in use, parking a controller frees one (see Active and Parked). A JasperMate brings no extra active controller. After the claim the page shows the controller’s local web interface password once, so keep it somewhere safe.
Someone else’s JasperMate
Section titled “Someone else’s JasperMate”If the unit belongs to another organisation, its page says so and offers Request Access, which asks its Managers to share it with you.
